TMI- Cat Edition
Dec. 23rd, 2010 06:03 pmI hate dealing with pus. I hate dealing with expressing it, with abscesses, and especially with large amounts of it on my cat. But Strawberry's tumor (removed once already, regrown, cat exceeds lifespan so far of those with chemo and radiation), that was attracting so much fluid, has now abscessed and been popped. *Ugh*. There's still the big huge flat pocket over her back and shoulder that's full of shit, even expressed every so often.
We'd thought she'd be gone by morning a few days ago, she wasn't enjoying life at all, but we brought her in the next day just to get the fluid drained and see if it was time to let her go.
It got popped.
So now we've got the vile pocket to deal with, but it seems like if that doesn't kill her then she'll have a bit longer anyway.
What I'm beginning to think is that it's done the same thing it did before- the first tumor kept growing and we let it be because we couldn't afford to do anything at that point, and then it popped. It had choked off its own blood supply and rotted, and I think it may be doing the same thing again. Only this time it got sneaky, and we assumed it was just the regular fluid piling up again.
