Just saw the dentist today for the first time in forever- made it clear that a guilt trip wasn't going to help, I was trying to get better with taking care of, and he was very nice and just dealt with me like we were two adults trying to solve a problem. Apparently he's grown up a lot since Mom was his secretary, and he's still teaching dentistry, so I'm liking him pretty well.
Anyway- the aching jaw might be grinding, might be these last two left teeth falling apart where th'old, incompetent dentist's work had rotted out, but they both need to go because at this point trying to save them will just end up with them needing to go later, and at that point the loss of foundation would be detrimental to an actual replacement implant. Meanwhile- because they *are* the backmost teeth, I can pretty-well do without them (as long as I don't make a habit of it). No abscesses or anything yet, so I can just treat the symptoms, brush like mad, and arrange to get them out when it's convenient. Yay.
