weirdletHonestly, I can't remember which character I ever loved first or came to love or dislike that everyone else does- I'm a bit of a fandom slut in that if someone will write one cool thing about a character, I will glom on and leech/hump forever. I think Ozai/Ursa is the one big thing there that I hadn't expected to like and suddenly found, holy shit that's hot from fandom writing. Beyond that? I tend to commit the sins of the annoying newb fan, ie; go after the characters that are popular but not often well-done, and have some of the fangirl kinks that are either done often and badly or rarely and badly, so that either way they're embarassing, but if you don't ask no one will ever do them well.
I refuse to be ashamed of them. I understand if that's annoying, but that's what content warnings and summaries are for- you are free to pick and choose, and sometimes the people who don't care for a character write them the best, keeping their flaws and grit in play in ways that are hard to juggle when you're too close in.
Character I'd shag anytime: Firelord Ozai- throw me down and tie me up and show me that you like me.
Character I'm most like- eh, couldn't tell ya. Possibly Aang in the placating and butterfly-ish and avoiding-things facet, Toph in the moderately tomboy-ish short broad sense, and Professor Zei in the 'ooh books leave me alone' sense.
Character I'd like to be like- Iroh. Have the lazy epicure bit down, would like the backup awesome to go with it^^ But that'll have to wait for age to polish me.
Dude I'd Slap- everyone, at one time or another. That's what I love about Avatar charas- they've got some rough spots to them and they're allowed to not be perfect^^
Pairings I love- Too many to count. They don't all have to be deathless love, either- there's so many combos that are good for one-shots and tempestuous affairs and things that are bad for you tomorrow but taste so good right now. And the fact that those are written are delicious to me.
Pairings I hate- honestly? Straight Zutara is about the most ridiculous thing (to me) that I've ever encountered. It can be done well- but it has to acknowledge the other options that are in play and work to show me growing attraction and circumstances making it possible, 'cause the subtext just isn't there to me in-canon. There's danger and fear and dislike- but I get more of a teenage badboy romance vibe from Katara and Jet than Katara and Zuko.
Deep, Dark Fandom Secret- Er. I wish to be more productive? Everyone knows I'm a pairing-slut and have a major thing for preg, kid and babyfic, genderbending and genderblending, bad boys and long shots getting their second chances and sometimes-just-sometimes making it to redemption. I also refuse to be anyone's sin-eater anymore, I have a wince-and-retreat reaction to drama. No playing diplomat unless I'm asked to, I learned that lesson a long time ago. My prevailing attitude is Can't We All Just Get Along?
