May have a line on a job walking dogs, which doesn't sound like much but frankly, anything that doesn't involve high-volume customer service and lets me go home between appointments to take care of household/Dad as needed?  I really hope he picks me tomorrow.  I like dogs.  I can walk twenty minutes and pick up poop and not have to deal with people or being treated as disposable whilst being told to give my all to those who will not forgive my inability to psychically absorb their non-existent training.

ahem.  Had that rant before, do not need to repeat.

That said, I'm poking around in my head the old idea of 'why don't I do a webcomic?'  Trying to strike a balance between not shooting myself in the foot by thinking 'it'll never get off the ground, you don't have anything coherent' and not shooting myself in the foot by not actually putting in the thought and work to make it good.

Bunch of different original characters ambling about in my head, some from the same world, some not.  Foremost are-

1.  Noble girl secretly running some sort of theft or information ring behind her father and brothers' backs, probably to help them without them knowing but also to make sure she's got her own means and escape-route to independence.  Aided by her pet bard/agent and lover, who, under the fine clothes, chill attitude and noose-broken voice, is a girl herself.  All very broody and Princess-Bride 'as you wish' as they probably end up antagonizing the heroes rather than being particularly heroic themselves.  Still- thief-and-mage antics.  I love these two, but I need a larger thing for them to be a part of.

2.  Second Sons- weird idea of having the 'spares' from various fantasy kingdoms brought together to form their own little 'troubleshooting' team for these allied kingdoms.  Read more... )

3.  Orcs.  Always have weird ideas for orc characters and culture, and wanting to play with something for that.

4.  Puss in boots- swashbuckler catgirl pirate.  Smuggler, too.  Requires an excellent hat.

5.  Dragon-skin girl- like a younger, less experienced Maleficient, but ordered by her grandfather to accompany the hero and protect the little squishy git.  So she wanders and fights by his side, looking mostly human aside from her coat of scales.

6.  Cyberpunk thing- dude who grew up in an MMO his parents invented.  Now he's stuck in the 'real' world... )
